26th October 2019.
One of the busiest days - we went to the Mount of Olives, then over to the Ascension Dome. We saw the place where Jesus had taught his apostles to pray, and also saw the point where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. We then moved onto the Garden of Gethsemane, but it was absolutely packed with tourists (and street traders and hustlers, more like - 'one rosary $2; 6 rosary just $10'). We went inside the Church dedicated to Gethsemane, and saw the Rock of Agony. In the afternoon we went to Ein Karim, the birthplace of John the Baptist; the Visitation Shrine (where Mary visited Elizabeth) and the Basilica of St John the Baptist.
Dome of the Ascension - pretty poor photo of where the Ascension took place.
At Pater Noster Grotto - here the Lord's prayer is written in every language - this is the English one.
Just to give you an idea of how impressive it was to see the Lords Prayer in every language in the world.
Mount of Olives, facing the Temple of Jerusalem.
No pictures of the Garden of Gethsemane, but this is the Rock of Agony.
On the wall outside the Visitation Shrine, again, in every language.
Basilica of St John the Baptist (at his birthplace).
