October 27th.
Sunday, and another very full day, where we covered Old Jerusalem, the pool of Bethesda and St Anne's Church (Our lady's birthplace). Then to the Via Dolorosa, which is in the heart of the old town. It is full of shops with their wares displayed along the street. Giving the tendency of some of our group to become distracted by the goods on offer, we bolted along the Via Dolorosa at breakneck speed. We got to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and had Mass there then saw the base of Mount Calvary; the Tomb of the Resurrection and then after lunch went to Dormition Abbey - the place where Mary is said to have died and from there onto the Room of the Last Supper.

Bethesda, where Jesus healed a lame man, who couldn't get into the water by himself and so benefited from the miracle cure of the waters.
