2029 - Todays route
Day 2 - 17th November 2023. Today was a bit of a slog but ended well. An hour to get off the ferry and nearly another hour to get out of Bari and then an eight hour drive with a hotel in a largely pedestrianised area (so almost impossible to find with two satnavs and a car. Thank heavens for lovely helpful Italian gentlemen who really went out of their way to help, and eventually got us here.
Nice hotel (Albergo San Martino) but glad to make it here before check in closed at 8pm. Googled a local restaurant but ended up stopping at a different one on the way which was lovely, in spite of being called Belend. The journey here was motorway but mostly scenic until the last couple of hours around Florence in rush hour....
